Her Excellency the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC with members of the WRAAF Branch after they and the WAAAF’s lead the RAAF Birthday Parade on Sunday, 27 March 2011 in honour of their 60th and 70th formation anniversaries respectively.

Her Excellency reviewed the parade which marked the 90th anniversary of the formation of the RAAF.

 

The WRAAF Branch consists of a group of ex-WRAAF’s who meet every two months (January, March, May, July, September and November) in Brisbane, usually on the second Saturday of the month.

d then maybe a social activity afterwards.  We help each other where we can and most importantly, we have a great time together.

We are a non profit Organisation dedicated to the enhancement of facilities to aid the well being of all past and present WRAAF and Affiliates.

Community Meeting Room of the Brisbane Square Library, 266 George Street, Brisbane.

The Brisbane Square Library is situated at the Treasury Casino end of the Queen Street Mall.

RAAF Association QLD Division

The WRAAF Branch Brisbane is a branch of the Australian Flying Corps and Royal Australian Air Force Association, Queensland Division (RAAF Association).

The short title of the Division is “Royal Australian Air Force Association, Queensland Division” and is usually abbreviated to “RAAFA”.

The RAAF Association was established to foster the spread of friendship formed in service and perpetuate the honour and ideals of the Royal Australian Air Force and other designated services.   It is a non-profit organisation.

The WRAAF Branch is also known as the “WR’s” to distinguish us from our sister service, the Women’s Australian Auxiliary Air Force (WAAAF) or also known as the “triple A’s.

Membership (Brisbane Branch)

Ordinary Membership

$32.00 per year (payable by end March each year)
(full calendar year) ($21 per half year July-December)

Associate Membership

$12.00 per year

This category only applies if you are a full member of another RAAF Association Branch.

We also have a social membership category which is $12.00 per year. For this you will receive 4 newsletters each year and you are welcome to come to any of our meetings or functions when you are in Brisbane. This membership is targeted to those girls who do not live in the Brisbane metropolitan area but still want to keep up to date with what is going on with their friends and the Air Force generally. There is no insurance cover for this type of membership.
Benefits of Membership

As a full or associate member you are covered by public liability insurance for any function/event you attend which has been organised by the WRAAF Branch or RAAF Association Queensland Division.

As a full member, you will receive copies of branch meeting minutes and 4 (four) newsletters per year.

As an associate member, you will receive 4 (four) newsletters per year.

You are able to participate in organised commemorative and social activities providing social companionship and friendship.
